Leighton’s Opticians & Hearing Care is a family run British company offering expert eye and hearing care, including eye tests, hearing tests and a range of eyewear and hearing aids. 

The Challenge

Compared to their competitors, Leighton's backlink profile was significantly weak and consisted of a high volume of Tier 3 publications. We needed to establish them as an expert in their field by focusing on earning coverage in Tier 2 and Tier 1 publications that would actually strengthen their authority.

Ultimately, Leighton’s sought to drive greater organic growth both to the site, but also to their physical stores across the UK.

Strategy Highlights

After carrying out an opportunity analysis, we identified that eye care and glasses and hearing care were the two areas that had the most potential for organic growth and ROI. With a focus of building links on new domains and hitting wider niches, our strategy focused on:

  • Demonstrating the brand’s expertise by providing unique insights and perspectives from in-house experts
  • Leading with a data-led approach to appeal to market-specific journalists
  • Expanding our strategy to target international publications to allow us to reach a larger scope of referring domains

The Results

As a result of Le Chameau significantly reducing their product range for brand related reasons, our campaign shifted from growth focused to recovery focused during our partnership.
