Schemas will help search engines to understand the content on your site, making it easier for them to crawl your site.  Having schema will also make your content eligible for rich snippets and provide information on your site to the right people.

With Schema Plus they will provide the correct semantic information that is needed for different types of schemas. Schema Plus provide schemas and index many elements including:

  • Products, descriptions, photos and product variants
  • Breadcrumbs
  • Blog posts
  • About pages
  • FAQ pages

Managing your sitemap is very important for your SEO. Sitemaps help search engines to discover and index your pages, which means that you can start to rank quicker. Shopify will automatically generate a sitemap; this can be a benefit if you have a small site that wants all of your URLs indexing.

However, most of the time, especially large eCommerce sites will have different variations of a product that will produce duplicate content issues. Conversely, you may have pages that are beneficial to users but do not want search engines to be found, for example, competition pages.

With Sitemap & NoIndex Manager it gives you complete control over NoIndex, NoFollow meta tags and your Shopify generated XML sitemap. This means you can stop search engines from crawling pages you do not want to be found and they can spend more time crawling important pages on your site.

However, a key benefit of this app is that it will allow you to edit and optimise your title and meta descriptions as well as other information on your site. FavSEO will allow you to edit title tags and meta descriptions in bulk, which will be hugely beneficial for sites that have a large amount of stock.

This app can be connected to Google Webmaster tools which can discover new keyword opportunities which you can use to help you write your meta descriptions and title tags.

Optimizing the images on your site is often neglected despite the major SEO benefits. Optimizing your images helps Google and other search engines to understand what your images are about through Alt text. In return, this can help your images rank for keywords but having optimized images can improve your site speed which has a great impact on SEO. The SEO Image Optimizer & Resizer app is a 3-in-1 app meaning that it will resize, compress and will optimize your images alt text, which all can be done in bulk.

It is important to remember that some SEO factors won’t be improved by just using Shopify apps, such as backlinks and the quality of your content. However, using apps can help boost factors that will have an impact on your organic search. For more help on how optimise your Shopify site get in touch with us today.
