SEO Account Manager

Salary: £40,000 - 45,000 depending on experience, plus equity in the Employee Trust in year 1, which gives you eligibility for the annual agency profit share

Location: Remote UK-based, with preference for one office visit per week (London, Sheffield or Newcastle)

We are looking for an Organic Search Account Manager to join our SEO team as a key progression step between senior delivery and leadership roles. This role is designed for high-performing Senior SEO Strategists who are ready to expand their scope beyond individual delivery. As an Organic Search Account Manager, you will take greater ownership of client relationships, account performance, and strategic direction, while beginning to develop the skills needed for future progression into either people leadership or growth-focused roles.

As an SEO Account Manager, you will be responsible for:

Account Ownership

  • Acting as the primary point of contact for a portfolio of SEO clients.
  • Owning account performance, priorities, and strategic direction.
  • Building strong, trusted relationships with client stakeholders.
  • Managing expectations and guiding clients through strategy and results.

Strategic Leadership

  • Leading quarterly planning and roadmap creation for your accounts.
  • Translating business objectives into clear SEO priorities.
  • Reviewing performance and shaping the narrative around results.
  • Identifying risks, opportunities, and strategic pivots early.

Delivery Coordination

  • Coordinating delivery across SEO, PR, and content where required.
  • Working closely with SEO Strategists and specialists to ensure work is delivered to a high standard.
  • QA’ing key deliverables and providing clear feedback.
  • Ensuring work stays on track and aligned to agreed priorities.

Performance & Commercial Awareness

  • Monitoring organic performance and understanding its commercial impact.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve outcomes, protect retainers, or expand scope.
  • Supporting renewal conversations through strong performance storytelling.
  • Understanding how SEO performance contributes to client growth.

Developing Leadership Skills

  • Supporting and mentoring Senior SEO Strategists and Strategists on accounts.
  • Beginning to take on responsibility for prioritisation and decision making.
  • Learning how to balance performance, delivery, and stakeholder expectations.
  • Gaining exposure to both people leadership and growth-focused work.

Experience & Expertise

  • 3+ years of agency or in-house experience, with a strong SEO background and
  • demonstrated ability to deliver strategic account ownership at a senior level
  • Deep, credible expertise in organic search and eCommerce strategy. Essential - proven experience working with eCommerce clients and understanding their unique challenges and opportunities
  • Strong understanding and awareness of paid media and its role in a wider marketing strategy. While you don't need hands-on campaign management experience, you must be able to discuss paid media impact with clients, understand when and how to recommend it, and be willing to build deeper expertise with our in-house paid media team
  • Ability to read performance data fluently and make confident, fast decisions on what's working and what needs to change
  • Track record of identifying and delivering strategic initiatives that have moved the needle for clients, evidenced through case studies, awards or consistent performance growth

Your Approach & Mindset

  • You think strategically first. You evaluate options based on commercial impact rather than habit or convention, and you're comfortable making the call when priorities need to shift
  • You're genuinely client-focused. Client service isn't a nice-to-have; our key value is
  • service-first, and it’s the core to how the agency has operated from day 1. You proactively seek feedback, build working relationships, and align on vision with every interaction
  • You take ownership. You make account-level decisions independently and are comfortable being held accountable for outcomes
  • You're forward-thinking. You identify and champion new approaches and tools ahead of the market. You see experimentation as part of the role
  • You influence through clarity and confidence, not escalation. You're able to make a compelling case to both clients and internal stakeholders
  • You're a collaborator. You work well with specialists across different channels and actively build strong working relationships with cross-functional teams

You'll join a growing, employee-owned agency ranked as one of the UK's best workplaces. Benefits include:

  • Unlimited annual leave
  • Annual profit share via our Employee Ownership Trust
  • Health cash plan and virtual GP access
  • Discounted gyms and wellbeing support
  • Hybrid working with flexible hours
  • Annual 2-week Christmas closure
  • Team socials and cultural events
  • Competitive training budget
  • Early finish on the last Friday of every month
  • Quarterly Personal Care Day and birthday day off
  • Charity initiatives with company donations

Our Values

At NOVOS, our values guide everything we do. We're looking for someone who lives them too:

  • Sustained Growth: Always learning, always sharing knowledge, and supporting others to grow
  • Simplicity: Cutting through jargon and making a complex strategy clear and accessible
  • Specialism: Becoming a true expert in eCommerce strategy across platforms and emerging trends
  • Stand Out, Be Unique: Bringing individuality and new perspectives to the table
  • Service First: Going beyond deliverables to build trust and long-term client partnerships

  • Everyone has a voice in how we run the business
  • We operate with full financial transparency
  • Every team member shares in our success through equity and annual profit share

That commitment has been recognised externally as we recently ranked 5th in the UK's Best Workplaces and won a Beacon of Excellence award, one of just 20 agencies nationwide. We work with some of the best brands in the industry, including Osprey, Fred Perry, Watches of Switzerland Group, and TALA, alongside ambitious, high-growth eCommerce businesses. From day one, we've always operated in line with our values, which included selling the business to the staff instead of a corporation and being laser-focused on the clients we work with.

FAQs

Can I work from home?

We offer both remote contracts for those a certain distance outside of London or office-based contracts where we ask you to be in the office at least once a week (Thursday’s).

Our office is also nothing like a traditional office - it’s our culture hub, located in the heart of Shoreditch by Spitalfields Market with tons of cafes, pubs and shops within walking distance.

We also organise regular team socials including dinners and other cool events, making your journey to the office worth it!

What does your recruitment process look like?

We arrange 2 interviews as part of our recruitment process - an initial screening call to check you’re a good fit for the role and company culture, and a skills-based interview to find out more about your experience.

After submitting your application, our team will review your CV and cover letter and arrange a screening call. You’ll then be introduced to the hiring manager, who will assign a short task to test your knowledge and understand how you think. Upon completion, a second interview will be arranged with both the hiring manager and relevant department head to discuss your findings in more detail.

P.S. We’re committed to inclusion and diversity, and have processes in place to eliminate bias and are more than happy to accommodate individual needs.

How can I make my job application stand out?

‘Stand out and be different’ is one of our company values, so we love to see a little extra effort! You can use your cover letter to tell us about all your interesting aspects - a side hustle, an award that you won, a talk you did, unique hobbies, personal projects and so on. It’s also a great idea to keep your LinkedIn updated and share it with us!

However, please know that we consider all applications equally and based on merit, keeping our personal biases at bay.

  • What is the culture like at NOVOS?

Culture is hugely important to us. Happy employees = happy environment = happy clients!

Alongside benefits such as unlimited holiday, annual employee profit sharing, recognition platforms which convert to vouchers, and many more, we try to foster a happy and healthy environment both in person and virtually.

We encourage everyone to be themselves and to have fun – we want to be the best in the industry and that starts with you.
