Senior SEO Strategist

Salary: £35,000+ depending on experience, plus equity in the Employee Trust in year 1, which gives you eligibility for the annual agency profit share

Location: Remote UK-based, with preference for one office visit per week (London, Sheffield or Newcastle)

Do you have a passion for eCommerce SEO and want to work for one of the UK’s award-winning digital agencies?

We’re looking for a Senior SEO Strategist to join our fantastic SEO team. In this role, you’ll manage your own client accounts, deliver high-impact SEO strategies, work closely with your peers and supporting each others development, while learning from experienced managers.

The role blends consultancy, implementation, and account management. You’ll have the chance to work directly with clients, presenting ideas, answering SEO queries, and guiding them on technical SEO, content, and digital PR. Alongside client work, you’ll also contribute to internal initiatives that drive innovation and meaningful change across the agency.

This is a great opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys responsibility, and wants to deepen their expertise in eCommerce SEO.

As Senior SEO Strategist, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Reviewing data and analytics to ensure client growth is on track and reporting and explaining this to clients.
  • Leading monthly and quarterly performance reviews, identifying the root causes of performance changes, and turning insights into clear actions
  • Acting as a project owner, managing multiple client accounts and exceeding expectations.
  • Prioritising and executing client roadmaps, ensuring delivery across technical fixes, content recommendations, and PR opportunities.
  • Building strong client relationships through clear communication and delivery.
  • Acting as the go-to SEO expert for your clients, across technical, content, and PR queries.
  • Running technical audits and translating them into developer-ready actions
  • Leading keyword/market research to shape client growth plans
  • Collaborating with PR on integrated campaigns
  • Identifying opportunities to protect or grow retainer value
  • Working on internal process improvements and business initiatives.

You’ll be successful in this role when you consistently demonstrate:

  • Client Growth: You deliver measurable improvements in organic performance across your accounts (e.g., YoY revenue, traffic, visibility, or priority keyword movement).
  • Quality of Strategy: Your SEO strategies are clear, evidence-led, and consistently drive meaningful client outcomes.
  • Client Satisfaction: Your clients trust you as their SEO expert, measured through positive feedback, strong retention, and minimal escalations.
  • Project Ownership: You independently manage your client accounts, hitting deadlines, prioritising effectively, and keeping work on track without needing heavy oversight.
  • Communication Excellence: You present ideas clearly, explain SEO in a simple way, and proactively keep clients and internal teams updated.
  • Innovation & Improvement: You contribute to improving internal processes, frameworks, or knowledge-sharing, helping the entire SEO team develop.
Team Contribution: You support junior team members with guidance and QA, helping them grow and ensuring high-quality output across the team.
Commercial Awareness: You identify opportunities to drive client value, protect retainers, and enhance long-term partnerships.

We’d love to hear from candidates who have:

  • 2+ years agency-side SEO experience, ideally with eCommerce brands.
  • A strong understanding of SEO strategy across technical, content, and digital PR.
  • A proven track record of delivering SEO performance improvements for clients.
  • Strong project management skills, balancing multiple workflows effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to simplify SEO for generalist marketers.
  • Experience with Google Analytics, Search Console, Excel, and G-Suite.
  • Evidence of using AI and automations in your work
  • Knowledge of the changing search landscape, including optimising for LLMs.
  • Evidence of knowledge sharing within a team or mentoring more junior teammates.
  • An analytical mindset - able to clearly demonstrate impact through data.

You'll join a growing, employee-owned agency ranked as one of the UK's best workplaces. Benefits include:

  • Unlimited annual leave
  • Annual profit share via our Employee Ownership Trust
  • Health cash plan and virtual GP access
  • Discounted gyms and wellbeing support
  • Hybrid working with flexible hours
  • Annual 2-week Christmas closure
  • Team socials and cultural events
  • Competitive training budget
  • Early finish on the last Friday of every month
  • Quarterly Personal Care Day and birthday day off
  • Charity initiatives with company donations

FAQs

Can I work from home?

We offer both remote contracts for those a certain distance outside of London or office-based contracts where we ask you to be in the office at least once a week (Tuesday's).

Our office is also nothing like a traditional office - it’s our culture hub, located in the heart of Shoreditch by Spitalfields Market with tons of cafes, pubs and shops within walking distance.

We also organise regular team socials including dinners and other cool events, making your journey to the office worth it!

What does your recruitment process look like?

We arrange 2 interviews as part of our recruitment process - an initial screening call to check you’re a good fit for the role and company culture, and a skills-based interview to find out more about your experience.

After submitting your application, our team will review your CV and cover letter and arrange a screening call. You’ll then be introduced to the hiring manager, who will assign a short task to test your knowledge and understand how you think. Upon completion, a second interview will be arranged with both the hiring manager and relevant department head to discuss your findings in more detail.

P.S. We’re committed to inclusion and diversity, and have processes in place to eliminate bias and are more than happy to accommodate individual needs.

How can I make my job application stand out?

‘Stand out and be different’ is one of our company values, so we love to see a little extra effort! You can use your cover letter to tell us about all your interesting aspects - a side hustle, an award that you won, a talk you did, unique hobbies, personal projects and so on. It’s also a great idea to keep your LinkedIn updated and share it with us!

However, please know that we consider all applications equally and based on merit, keeping our personal biases at bay.
